2013 - Day 31

Tonight the boys got to watch their favorite show, Top Gear. It was recorded on the DVR and Hunter has been patiently waiting for Chris to be on his days off to watch it!! Hunter was giggling (at someone farting go figure) during the show and I swear that, the giggling not the farting, is my favorite sound ever! He has the best laugh!
And this funny little girl says to me "Look mom I am a grandma!" as she hobbles around using Rapunzels hair from her Tangled Castle as a cane.  Hilarious!

2013 - Day 30

Ella had OT here at the house this afternoon. Robin (the OT) wanted to work on writing so Ella wrote Riley a love letter : )
I will translate...(Ella wrote this with no visual cues, which I usually write what she wants me to and then she copies on to her own paper, Robin just told her how to spell)
It says.....
Dear Riley I love Riley
pink swimsuit goggles
green bottoms  5555
recess go to dinner
She was writing about them swimming this past weekend, the green bottoms are what color she said Riley's swim trunks were.  The 5's....I have no clue.
After OT we headed out to dinner at Red Robin with Nana and Grandpa, when we got home someone was very hyper. LOL.  He is such a goofball!!!!

2013 - Day 29

Not much to report today, the kids went to school and then they came home!

Hunter playing cars on the stairs....and then Ella joined in.
I made the mistake of looking inside Ella's playhouse that is in the middle of the living room.  It was a disaster in there.  I was trying to get a pic of her cleaning and she slammed her window shutters shut, and thought it was quite funny!

2013 - Day 28

Ella was oh so helpful today, helping me put clothes away (hence the hanger in the background) and trying out my new workout shoes that arrived in the mail today. She had a fabulous day back at school, thank goodness!!!

And this little guy....I volunteer in his school's library every other Monday, and while I am in there he is in computer lab which is connected to the library. So, I of course stop in and say hi to him. Well, today they were doing some math program on the computer. I watched in disbelief, his teacher came over to say hi and said something about how amazing he is at math and how he keeps teaching his self new things and that she doesn't know what to do with him. I told her that it is kind of depressing that my 3rd grader is better at math than me, lol. He had Boy Scouts tonight and then came home and played in a laundry basket : )

2013 - Day 27

Hunter went bowling with Nana and G-pa again today. He loves the alone time, and loves to bowl!!! Here he is attempting to look like his shirt!
This little girl (doing a dance) is excited to be going back to school tomorrow!
Here is one of the pics from the photo shoot with Maria Adams Photography yesterday!!!

2013 - Day 26

I took the kids to have Valentine's Day pictures taken early this afternoon. They did pretty good and the sweet photographer, Maria, sent the kids home with cookies! Can't wait to see the pics!

We came home for some lunch....and of course a cookie.
I told Ella she looked like she had on lipstick, so she puckered up for me.
Then later in the afternoon we went swimming at the YMCA.  Our friends Rex and Riley and Mary came along with us!  Ella and Riley were in the pool for over 2 hours and they were doing the big slide by themselves (us mom's were at the bottom.) It was amazing to watch these tiny 6 year olds walking up all those stairs holding hands and then waiting patiently in line for their turns.  I can't believe how grown up they are!!!  The big boys swam for about an hour and then played basketball until we were done swimming!  I know my 2 were definitely wore out!

This is what being in chlorine for 2 hours looks like....I totally should have taken her swimming at the begining of her illness (she has been on antibiotics for 5 days and I've been doing sinus rinses the last couple of days and nothing has come out of her nose yet I could hear how stuffy she was,) because tonight her nose and eyes are running like a faucet.
Hunter doesn't look as bad....just tired...but his poor skin gets SO dried out!

2013 - Day 25

Nana and Grandpa picked the kids up tonight and took them to dinner and then to their house to play so that I could go play Bunco with some friends. We all had a great time!! Before they left Hunter helped Ella do a puzzle. So sweet!!! Oh yeah, Ella stayed home from school again today. Ugh. I told her she was going to school and she said her "froat is scwatchy" and then ran crying to her bed and fell asleep....so she stayed home.

2013 - Day 24

Ella playing "baseball" with Nana! Nana came over and hung out with Ella tonight....she even got her to bed with no problem, hooray!!!
Because we took this boy to his first concert!
We surprised him with tickets to Rascal Flatts!
The Band Perry was one of the opening acts...they were really good!

Rascal Flatts was great!  We had a lot of fun. I think it was the perfect 1st concert for Hunter to go to!

2013 - Day 23

Ella spent a lot of today laying around sucking her thumb....but did a little bit of playing too. Her fever is gone but she woke up with no voice. I know she is all stuffed up, I can hear it in her breathing but we have had no boogers today....even after breaking down in tears several times. Not sure what to do about school tomorrow. Poor little bug.
I went to the Y with this little guy after school. He plays basketball and runs while I work out and then we swim together.  I love the alone time I get with him!!  Of course I ruined his day by making him come home and do homework and study spelling words.....little does he know Chris and I are taking him to his first concert tomorrow night, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry.  I'm SO excited and he will be too!!!

2013 - Day 22

The doctor wanted to see Ella again today, the final verdict is a virus (causing the fever) and a sinus infection, so we started on antibiotics. Because she still had a fever at the doctor's office the doctor said definetely no school tomorrow and she needs to be 24 hours fever free before she goes back. Anyhow, I think she is feeling better today and the motrin is taking the fever down better than it has been. So in her moments of low to no fever she is playing. After dinner tonight Ella asked Hunter to play school. It was pretty darn cute. She was taking letters off of her ABC board and asking him what letter it was. Thankfully he played along very nicely. Sweet boy!!!

2013 - Day 21

Hunter and Chris went to the YMCA today. Hunter said he played basketball, ran laps around the gym and then swam. Here he is when they got home!
I took Ella into the doctor today...day 3 of fever.  She has a bit of a rash on her neck and chest (though that isn't really anything too unusual for Ella,) and was a little stuffy this morning.  The doctor ran a strep test and that came back negative, then she tested her urine....(which was funny cause Ella had to pee in a cup, I squatted down in front of her with the cup and she said "um, what are you doing?" I said you have to pee in this cup and Ella says "well that's just weird." LOL) and that came back negative and then the doctor swabbed her for the flu and that came back negative too.  Then we were sent for blood work and a chest x-ray.  The X-ray was good, no pneumonia, and the nurse called and said the blood work indicated that it is possibly a virus, not sure what that means blood work wise, but good.  Except this evening/night Ella is VERY stuffy so chances are she will have a sinus infection.  She looked rough today, I swear I did her hair before I took her out but after 4 wrestling matches to get swabs and blood tests done this is what she looked like.  Notice her poor eyes look like she has been punched.

2013 - Day 20

Hunter and I ran over to the YMCA for a quick swim as soon as Chris woke up this afternoon....before Chris left for work. We weren't there for very long but it was nice to go with just the boy! After we got home he of course headed outside. Here he is riding the neighbors Green Machine while the neighbor rode Hunter's Jeep.
And this is pretty much how I spent the rest of the day, cuddling with Ella.  She still has a fever and was a bit stuffy when she woke up but I don't really know what is going on with her.  I guess I'll be taking her into the doctor tomorrow (if they are open) because you really never know with Ella.

2013 - Day 19

Hunter went bowling with Nana and Grandpa today and then headed up to the house to play for a couple of hours. Here is the handsome fella before he headed out.
Ella had another emotional day....random crying over nothing.  I was talking to my Dad on the phone and Ella climbed up into my lap and I noticed she felt hot.  I took her temp and what do you know..101.7 degrees. I gave her motrin and her fever went up to 102.  After about 3 hours it went down to 101.  She doesn't have any symptoms of anything that she is complaining of or that I notice except for the fever.  Who knows...guess we will see what the morning brings.  She had moments though of playing...here she is with a piece of birthday cake that she said is for Grandad : )  Happy Birthday Dad!

2013 - Day 18

I FINALLY convinced Hunter to get a haircut. Phew. I was about to lose him under all that hair. I'm not entirely opposed to longer hair on boys, but Hunter's hair is so dang thick. We negotiated to leave it longer on top than we typically do, I would settle for just about anything as long as it involved getting some of the hair off of the sides and back. Despite the fake smile in this pic, it is so great to see his face again : )
After we got home we watched a couple of movies, (the kids each picked one out.) Here we are watching some Barbie movie.  Ella about fell asleep.  She was a bit emotional today, maybe tired?
Awwwww, that face : )
But never fear, Ella bounced back for a bit.  Pulled her pants up and danced!
She even did some cheerleading......but it was exhausting!
Hunter texting daddy goodnight......look he has ears!

2013 - Day 17

Ella had speech this morning...it started off a little rocky. I dragged her into the office said "good luck with that" to her poor sweet therapist and shut the door and sat in the lobby. This is after when she got a snack.
Hunter decided to go for a run in the 20 degree weather....really he just wanted to use the pedometer on his Ipod!
He runs so fast he is a blur : )
Nana came over and played tonight, she spent a lot of time watching Ella play the Ipad.

2013 - Day 16

Are my children already teenagers????

Hunter playing on the IPad and listening to the IPod.  If he is in this house he is typically plugged into to some electronic device.
And this one.....oh Ella.  Today was one of those VERY sassy days.  After snapping a picture of Hunter I then pointed the camera at her and said "Hey El I have to get a picture of you too," and this is what I got.  The famous, used at least 30 times an hour, Ella Eye Roll.  God help me when she is an actual teenager.  I think I will move out.

2013 - Day 15

I feel like I write the same things about 3/4 of the year. HUNTER PLAYED OUTSIDE TODAY.....SHOCKER!
And Ella dressed herself up (although the scarf is a new addition to this ensamble) and danced around the house........while riding a pony.  In big news Ella read a book that was sent home with her from school today, the teacher said to try reading every page to her and just make her responsible for the word "the" because she couldn't get it last week.  I open to the first page and Ella takes off reading every word!  Check my other blog or Facebook for a video of the 2nd time around!

2013 - Day 13

Ella blow drying Ruby with her toy blow dryer.
Giving some love! Thank goodness she is a patient puppy.
And then there was this boy....I make him "fix" his laundry every Sunday (because he takes his clothes off and one pant leg will be all balled up and his underwear will still be in his pants) and load it into the washer.  He LOVES it.  Can't you tell?
