2013 - Day 59

This boy got me to agree to let him wear shorts to school today (after he has begged for several weeks, I finally said yes last night.) OF COURSE it had to rain pretty much all day. Oh well, I'm guessing he didn't get recess in the rain : )
Ella had crazy hair day at school, so I put her hair in a "pony-hawk," a girl version of a mohawk I guess?
She LOVED it!!  She went around all day playing her air guitar and saying "I a ROCKSTAR!!!"
It was pretty cool!!!

2013 - Day 58

Today was wacky Wednesday for Ella's school and the kids were supposed to wear mismatched clothes. We accomplished that!! Stripes, camo and polka dots make for an interesting look!
This handsome guy asked to get his haircut today.  PHEW!!!!  I LOVE his hair short, I can see his eyes SO much better.  But I have to say now he looks older : (
Um...apparently her shirt is a little small and her modeling skills are interesting!
Love him!!
So sweet : )

2013 - Day 56

This week Ella's kindergarten class is celebrating Dr Seuss' birthday. One of Ella's teachers remembered that Chris is a cop and asked if he would come read to the class because they were having guest readers everyday. Chris read The Cat in the Hat to the class and after answered some of their questions. Those kids are hilarious. My child raised her hand, her teacher said "oh Ella would you like to ask your dad a question?" "Yep!" Chris had just got done telling the kids that he works mostly at night and would be going to work after leaving the school. So Ella says "You no go to work. You go home go sleep nakey-snake!" Nakey-snake = naked. Chris tried talking over her so no one else heard but my ever persistent daughter repeated herself louder, to which Chris said "come give me a hug" and buried her face in his chest. It was hysterical, luckily none of the kids seemed to know what she was talking about. And for the record Chris does not sleep naked, but in Ella's mind if you aren't wearing a shirt you ARE naked!!!

Today was also funny hat day at school, though the kids didn't have them on in the picture above because they had just taken their winter hats off because they had just come in from recess!
After dinner Hunter and I played Ruby in the middle in which we roll the ball back and forth to eachother while the poor dog tries to catch it!  She enjoys it though!
Got it!!!
Flying devil dog!!!  Hunter and I always laugh a lot when we play with her!!!

2013 - Day 55

We went to the YMCA today. I got to go to Zumba with my mom and my friend Dacia, Hunter played basketball with his friends and Ella went to childcare with her friend! After the class we all went swimming. It's a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We came home and ate dinner and then the kids started playing with crazy Ruby while I cleaned up.  I grabbed my camera to get my pictures of the day, and this is what I got...crazy kids and crazy dog!

2013 - Day 54

We started off the day by heading to Special Olympics Young Athletes! My friend Mary (Riley's mom) bribed me into going : ) We had a good time!

Ella and Riley playing with the parachute
Riley, Ella and Beau
Riley looks like he is pain!
Ella and Beau
Ella kicking the ball into the goal....I wasn't fast enough!
Everyone receives a ribbon and most importantly a snack!
Hunter came home from his sleepover at about 5:00!  He had so much fun!  He had just enough time to get a quick shower before we headed off to his Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts.  Unfortunately I was pushing kids out the door and totally forgot the camera.  So I had to get some pics when we got home!

Scout salute!
We bought a few raffle tickets and Hunter won a necklace and a new flashlight!  Here he is practicing shadow puppets in the kitchen.
Ella's knees : )

2013 - Day 53

I didn't get a picture of Hunter today : ( A friend of his that is in his class' mom called this morning after he had already left for school and asked if Hunter could spend the night. She came and picked up his cloths while Hunter was at school and then picked the boys up after school. This is his first non-family friend/non Nana sleep over!!!! I'm sure he is having a blast!!! Tonight I hosted our Bunco group here at the house. I had a great time, they are a fun group of women. We laughed a lot!!!

My friend Dacia came over early and made guacamole for the party, and she had a little helper : )  Ella and Nana were really excited for the guacamole : )
I love that I have friends that are so good with Ella  : )

I forgot, until bedtime, to get a picture of Ella.  Yep, this is how she looks every night.  Hair braided and face slathered in goat's milk body butter!  The things we do for beauty : )

2013 - Day 50

The kids went back to school today after a 4 day weekend! Ella pretended to be a "mail carrier" when she got home!
I TOTALLY blame my lack of sleep last night for forgetting to get a picture of Hunter after he got home from school today.  We worked on his school project, watched his favorite show Top Gear and then it was bath and bed.  About an hour after he went to sleep I remembered that I hadn't taken a picture.  What was I supposed to do?  I went in his room, climbed the ladder to his bed and took a picture, flash and all.  The kid didn't move or open his eyes.  Score!  As I was shutting his door he said "peace out."  Oops : )

2013 - Day 49

Nana took Ella (and me) for her first pedicure today. Ella was so excited and had fun. She is my girly girl : )

The only way her little legs could reach!

She picked pink AND purple!
Cute little toes.  Her feet look big to me here, but she still wears a toddler 10 at age 6 : )
Hunter had a project day!  Here he is working on his state project for school after dinner.  His state is Colorado!
