Day 91

The day started out pretty nice, which just means not raining, but while Hunter was outside playing it started pouring and thundering. Hunter is not a fan of thunder (it really doesn't do it much around here) so he was in a bit of a panic getting all his stuff inside. At least I didn't have to fight with him to come in today!!

Ella is fever free today, hooray!!! She seems to have gotten over whatever this little illness without going to a doctor and without antibiotics. Hooray!!!!

Last night Hunter and I were watching the movie A Smile as Big as the Moon and it got to the part where the teacher was talking about the kids different disabilities and he says that the one boy has Down syndrome. Ella hears "Down syndrome" and immediately says "Hey, I have that!" pretty amazing, I was unaware that she was aware!!!

Day 90

It was yet another crappy, rainy day here. The good news is that we broke the record for the most rain in March....YAY! Hunter has had early release from school all week, and pretty much all week it has been too rainy to play outside. I went upstairs to take a pic of the kids and while I was trying to snap one of Hunter he asked if he could play outside, to which I replied "it's POURING rain." This is the look I got.Then to the other extreme, I think being locked up inside has brought out his psychotic side : )Hunter was really sweet at dinner tonight, he said "Mom, don't you get really scared when Ella is sick?" I said "sometimes. But she is fine." He said "well, I do." I asked him why he is scared and he said "she might have to go to the hospital again. You guys were gone for a long time and I missed my 2 girls." Awww, melt my heart my boy, though I seriously wish he didn't worry about so much!!!!

Ella is feeling better today, mostly. She still has a fever but her nose isn't snotty and she isn't complaining of any pain. She hasn't eaten much today either, but more than yesterday. Sometimes having a child that doesn't feel much pain is really confusing. I hate not knowing what is going on. This morning we were watching our DVR'd Dancing with the Stars (Ella loves that show) and Sugarland and some dude were singing a song together that she knows so Ella ran and grabbed her microphone and belted out the tunes. It was a good sign that she was up and playing.Until the song ended and she threw herself to the ground and started crying....

Day 89

Hunter got a remote control helicopter in the mail today from his Aunt Tami and family! He loves it, even though it is apparently very annoying to him to call his name so I can snap a picture!
An action shot, it takes a lot of talent to hit your own self in the head with the helicopter you are controling. This is one of the near misses : )

Hunter got to go on a date tonight with Nana, but I don't have pictures of that because he had to sneak out because Ella would be upset!

Ella had a stay at home sick day. She woke up at 3:30 this morning screaming and crying so I went running into her room and she had her knees pulled up to her chest and was saying her tummy hurts and then started gagging and retching, (as a side note, I find it very intereting that Ella has never puked, she used to spit up when she had reflux problems but she has never thrown up. I wonder if she doesn't have enough muscle power to???) so I ran her into the bathroom where she began to tremble. It was quite pitiful. Anyhow I rocked her to sleep and held her for about an hour and then put her back to bed. This morning she woke up with a fever, but no more tummy pains. Ella has eaten 5 crackers today and if you know Ella you know that means she is surely not feeling well because my girl loves to eat!!!! But, no matter how sick you feel you can still appreciate pretty, freshly painted, pink nails!!!

Day 88

Hunter taking the pup potty. It's dangerous work hince the helmet, ha ha! Really he was riding his bike and saw me take her out and had to take over!

Ella has had a really loose tooth for quite awhile. Today she was going potty and I asked her if her tooth was still there, which it was, I told her she should pull it out. She said "what?" I said grab the tooth and pull straight up, she said "like this" and out it came! She has now lost 2 teeth! And YES I know she doesn't have a shirt on again, lol!

Ella was playing with Ruby and I think Ruby jumped up and bumped Ella in the face, Ella says she bit her though there were no red marks or scratches so I'm guessing not. Anyhow Ella all of a sudden yells "RUBY. Look what you did me, you gave me black eye. LOOK AT ME RUBY!" It was really hard not to bust out laughing. Luckily I was sitting on the couch and had the camera right next to me.

All was forgiven 5 seconds later!

Day 87

Hunter has early release from school all week due to teacher conferences so he had to go with me to take Ella to dance class...he was not very excited about it. At the end of class the teacher invited us all in to see the girls dance. Again Ella was next to a misbehaving child and Hunter says "I'm impressed, Ella is doing WAY better than that girl." (Referring to behavior.) It was pretty funny. Here they are after class in the parking lot.

This is what both of my kids look like when they step outside. Poor light sensitive kids, lol. It takes a lot of coaxing to get them to open their eyes!!!

Day 86

So she turned the camera on me instead : )

While I was trying to get a pic of Hunter tonight Ella decided she needed to be in the picture too!

Day 84

Hunter and his ramp, lol. He came in and asked Chris to adjust his bike shocks (they are adjustable) so that he could land softer.

Ella stealing some of her brother's cars, when asked what she was doing she told me "Nothing!"

Day 83

Phew..almost forgot today's post!! That's what happens when Mommy gets to go out and have some fun : )

Ella and her flower she made at Occupational Therapy today, it's made out of an empty toliet paper roll.

Ruby jumped up on Ella's little couch today, and then whined and whined because she was too scared to jump down. Ella came down and said "silly Ruby, that is MY couch!"

Day 82

We woke up this morning to snow, ugh! Come on Spring we are ready!!! It had warmed up a bit and Hunter got to spend some time playing outside, which always makes for a happy boy!!

Ella had a fun day, Nana picked her up from school and they went to the store and picked up some lunch and then played at Nana's house for a couple of hours. We had Girl Scouts this evening and because it was World Down syndrome Day yesterday I read a book to the group about Ds and brought in blue and yellow cupcakes. Of course I forgot/was too busy to take pictures of that so here she is when we were getting ready to leave!

It was a rainy/hailing/snowing/windy crappy day outside today! Hunter was bummed he couldn't play outside so he played games on my laptop and had a little something watching him : )

Ella had a great day at school....finally! Guess her levels are getting more normal? Who knows. Here she is trying to make a peace sign, lol!

Day 79

My sweet boy is SO in love and the puppy feels the same way!!!
I really liked Ella's hair this morning so had to make sure and take pictures before we headed off to school and she messed it up!

Awwww Ruby! I'm starting to think that babies are easier than puppies! When you get up with babies at 4 in the morning it does not involve standing outside in the dark at 20 degrees, 9 week old babies don't have teeth and best of all when you lay a 9 week old baby down it stays there!!! LOL. She really has been a good puppy though, a lot better than the last puppy we had!!

Day 76

We brought home our new puppy today...thanks to all who talked me into it : ) Grandad and Debbie would NOT take no for an answer and sent Hunter money for his birthday to get the pup, so if it doesn't work out guess what they are getting in the mail, lol! Hunter is of course in Heaven and is so happy to have the puppy, and Ella is so happy too! The puppy is a mini weenie dog, she is 9 1/2 weeks old, and her name is Ruby (after Ella's favorite show Max and Ruby.) So far she is a really good pup, has a good personality and loves to burrow into her bed, blankets and laps!
