2013 - Day 38

Ella's day (which really means mine) started off rough again. She had a hard time listening at speech this morning, so when we left I called her Endocrinologist and asked for a blood draw to check her thyroid....she just hasn't been acting herself for awhile now and her thyroid hasn't been checked in 2 months so figured that is the first place we should look. Thankfully Ella was able to pull herself together and do much better at school today, even though she had speech again at school as well as physical therapy. Then I hauled her to get a blood draw after that. So, when we got home and she said "I want jammies and Doc McStuffins" I was happy to oblige! She deserved it!
Instead this kid was a grumpy pants.  EVERY Thursday here lately its the SAME battle.  "I HATE SPELLING WORDS!!!!"  Guess what ME TOO!  The truth of the matter is that he is very good at spelling, far better than me, but his list is challenging these days and he has to do some studying!  Sorry buddy.
Ella did take a break from her show watching to model.
And Hunter got over being grumpy.  He said "you know how towels have tire treads on them?"  Huh?  "Ya know the line at the bottom." Yeah?  "Can I use one as a road?" Whatever kiddo!
Funny kid!
Serious car playing!!!

2013 - Day 37

Hunter and I headed off to the Y tonight so that I could try a new class! Hunter played football on the basketball court...I know, strange. He was a tired boy at bed time! Here he is finishing up his Fitness Log for school earlier in afternoon.
Ella had a rough day at school, she got in trouble and had to stay in from recess.  Nothing can make her day all better like Nana coming over to play with her!  Here they were playing fashion show/modeling!
Happy girl!

2013 - Day 36

Hunter was playing outside today after school and came running in to tell me that there was a rainbow outside! Of course I had to take (or do my best attempt at taking) a picture of Hunter with the rainbow!!! It's been pretty warm out for Feb and Hunter has been taking full advantage of outside time...plus it helps that we are slowly gaining more daytime!
Ella had an eye doctor appointment (her 6 week post op appt)  this morning.  It went well, the crossing is no longer an issue but apparently she has to big of a difference in vision between her eyes. Her right eye (the one that has been operated on 3 times) is seeing 20/25 with glasses and her left is 20/40.  The doctor thinks we will need to do patching but it is too soon after surgery to patch the eye that just had surgery on it....if that makes any sense.  We go back AGAIN in 8 weeks.  I think we have been to the eye doctor about every 2 months, sometimes much sooner, for the past 2+ years!  Anyhow, we did a trial run of Ella's Valentine's Day hair-do today that I found on Pintrest.
I think it's a hit!  Check out my other blog for more pics : )

2013 - Day 35

Ella's teacher said that Ella was "very strong-willed" at school today, lol, and then said "at least you will NEVER have to worry about lack of independence with Ella!" I think that is her sweet teacher's way of saying that Ella wanted to do her own thing all day today. To be fair she did have 2 substitutes in her class today and you know how my girl likes routine and sameness! We came home and worked on some sight words and reading (she is doing awesome) and then she played. I don't know what I will do when she outgrows her ballet recital costume.
After dinner we headed over to Boy Scouts.  Tonight was Law Enforcement night so Chris stopped by on duty and fingerprinted the boys and let them try on his SWAT gear.  Ella and I headed out pretty quickly but she was super excited to see Daddy in his "cop costume" and Hunter was beaming with pride to have Chris there as a cop : )
From one of the Scout parent's cell phone.  Hunter dressed up in SWAT gear!
I'm still REALLY pushing for him to be a Doctor or a Physical Therapist, but things aren't looking good for me!

2013 - Day 34

Hunter and I met Nana at the Y this afternoon. Nana and I took a Zumba class (our first) and Hunter played some basketball, after class we went swimming with Hunter! So as soon as we got home we ate dinner and then I realized I didn't take any pictures today, so I got one of Hunter right before he headed to the shower. Little did I know, until now (12:41 AM) that Hunter had a piece of bean on his tooth from the soup. Oops : )
Ella really took her time eating the soup....yes she typically wears clothes to dinner now but for whatever reason she decided to remove her shirt, which by the looks of her face it was probably a good idea.  Doesn't she look thrilled?

2013 - Day 33

Hunter began the day playing in the little pile of snow that we have left!
While Ella relaxed, she had a tummy ache (I think due to antibiotics.)
After he was done playing outside the boys worked in the garage and started Hunter's Pine Wood Derby Car for Boy Scouts.  Here is Hunter using the saw. I had to close my eyes and take the picture because all I can see is how close my boy is to cutting his fingers off.

Sanding the car.  Hunter is going for speed this year after going for looks last year!
Ella perked up enough to sing!  Not sure why the line appeared in all my pictures of the TV, when it wasn't on the TV itself.  Weird!

2013 - Day 32

Legos Legos Legos

How she spent the afternoon/night. Hopefully she is just tired and not getting sick again!
