2013 - Day 45

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! We had a fun day! Hunter first thing this morning....bed head and all!
Ella this morning
Before school.  One of Ella's homework assignments for the week was to write her numbers 0-100.  Her teachers are awesome and always tell me to feel free to modify Ella's homework when needed.  They, a lot of the time, will write things in highlighter and have Ella trace.  I did that for the numbers, because that is a LOT of writing for this little girl.
But if you look close she clearly did NOT trace almost any of the numbers.  She wrote most on her own (it was super hard to see the highlighter numbers) when I would tell her what number came next.  She was SO proud of herself, and I was too!!!
Chris and I split the day and he went to Hunter's class party before heading to work and I went to Ella's and helped out.  Both kids had a blast at their parties!!!

After school.

Then later in the evening Nana came over bearing more gifts!  She even found 2 cars that Hunter doesn't have, that in itself is a miracle!!!
Ella loved all her goodies!

We took a lot of pictures of the two kids with Nana (which apparently most were on her camera) and then the kids took turns using my camera to take pictures....here is a picture that Hunter took!
Then we had heart pizza for dinner!
Mom got me this for Valentine's Day.  In those first few scary weeks after Ella was born my mom and I would sing You Are My Sunshine to baby Ella.  I never would have imagined that 6 years later she would sing it to me everynight and then demand that I sing it back.  AMAZING!

2013 - Day 44

I volunteered in Hunter's class today...I love being in the room with him at school, even when I'm working with other kids!  I love that he still loves to have me around and even gives me a hug in front of his friends!!!!!  I took him out of school a few minutes early because he wanted to go with me to pick Ella up from school.  It was SO cute when Ella spotted him, she ran to him they hugged and Hunter picked her up and twirled her around.  It's moments like that that make all the fighting they've been doing at home ok!  Hunter of course played outside when we got home.  Here he is skate-boarding.  I HATE watching it!
Ella, oh Ella.  We started off the day at the dentist...it didn't go so well.  She was a pill and refused to open her mouth so that the poor hygenist could brush her teeth.  It ended with her in my lap and us prying her mouth open. Fun times.  Luckily once the doctor herself came in Ella was more than willing to open up.  She did have a good day at school, but OT after school didn't go so well.  She was a PILL.  I quickly captured this happy moment, Robin's face cracks me up in this pic, right after she got the thera-putty taken away for not following directions.
We headed to the Y tonight so that my mom and I could take a class.  I strapped Ella in her stroller and gave her the IPad and Hunter played soccer on the basketball court with some kids.  Thankfully Ella redeemed herself and was SO good!!!  She was quite the little cheerleader for Nana and I and the other people taking the class got a kick out of her too!  After the class I let Ella out of the stroller and she started doing all the motions that we had done in class including the plank.  I was so impressed!!!

2013 - Day 43

It's been pretty warm lately (at least for here) and Hunter has loved playing outside a little longer each day!
Ella was getting quite frustrated because Ruby would not sit and watch her perform on her "stage"
Oh well, the show must go on!

I got the kids Valentine's Day cards done tonight.  Thanks to Marie Adams Photography for the great pictures and giving me the idea!!!  SOOOOOO much easier than having kids (especially Ella) write their names 24+ times!

So cute!

Ella was of course ticked that I wouldn't let her eat one of the suckers : )

2013 - Day 42

Today was the 100th day of school! Ella class made these hats....

and glasses!!!
Hunter had Boy Scouts tonight and they worked on tying knots!
Hunter's favorite...the lasso!

2013 - Day 41

We headed to the Y this afternoon. Nana and I took a Zumba class and then we swam with the kiddos after. I of course do not take my camera with me to the Y, so all I am left with is after bath pictures!

I love my goof!
I attempted to do some sort of french-ish braid? and it didn't go so well.  But this is the only pic of Ella....her and Hunter were playing some spin around like crazy people game and Ella fell (all while I was in the shower) and her face looks a little rug burned.  Hopefully it's back to normal tomorrow!!

2013 - Day 40

Hunter got to go to his friend Kellen's birthday party at Jump and Bounce this morning! He had a great time and I love to watch him with his friends!!! I didn't get any good pictures....oops! Here is the only one I got!
After the party we came home and picked up Ella and Daddy and went to go find Hunter some new shoes, because his had holes in them!  He was on the hunt for BLACK shoes.  We went to the little shoe store we always go to, they do a good job of fitting the kids.  They brought out all the tennis shoes they had in Hunter's size, which was just 4 pairs.  2 were black, 1 was grey, and 1 was NEON yellow.  I kind of laughed because I just knew that Hunter wouldn't even try the yellow ones on.  Guess which ones were his favorite?????  Apparently NEON is in!

He LOVES his shoes!
After dinner teacher Ella called Daddy to class!
Then she made Daddy be the teacher...I love this picture because of her tiny butt crack sticking out of her pants, ha!

2013 - Day 39

It's FINALLY Friday!! YAY!!! After playing outside Hunter listened to his IPod and "played" the songs on his paper jams guitar (silently) and his keyboard (also silently.) Music to my ears!
Ella did yet another fashion show....this time with a different wardrobe!
And after dinner we popped some popcorn and watched Peter Pan.  I bought it yesterday remembering that I liked it as a little kid.....all I can say is WOW!  It's definetely an old movie....and a little un-PC. LOL. The kids really enjoyed it though!  When I was tucking Ella in she said "I go to sleep and Peter Pan wake me up and I fly." I said really?  She said "Yep!" all excited.  As I kissed her she repeated it only with worry on her face and in her voice.  I asked her if she was scared and she nodded her head yes.  I said to not worry it's just pretend, besides your window is closed and locked!  She smiled and said "well that's a wee-leaf!" (RELIEF.)  So funny, love that kids imagination!
