2013 - August 13th

Today we took Ella to Babyland General Hospital where Cabbage Patch babies are born. I went when I was a little girl and still remember that visit! I am SOOOO glad that my little girl loves to play baby dolls like I did....and possibly even more!

Both of my babies sitting in the giant cabbage when we first got there!  Ella was just a little excited!

Looking at older Cabbage Patch Dolls...that are now worth $15000! The 3rd one in this pic is the 2nd one ever made, in 1977!
In the incubator

Grandmom and Ella at the wishing well!

Look, they have matching noses!!!
Holding one of the "newborns" that we watched be born!
My sweet boy, he was so good!
Ella got to choose a baby. She carried all 5 of these "Babyland exclusive" exclusive babies around. Here was the final lineup to choose from!
The winner!

Watching the 2nd baby be born from mother cabbage. It's SOOO cute!!!

Ella saying the adoption oath. She had to repeat the oath line by line and did so good! She promised to be the "best mama to her baby."
It's official! She is the mama to Lexi Caillou.....lol, that is the name she chose : )
Handing me the birth certificate!

Here is what they looked like up close......"too bright!!!"

I just love this boy!

2013 - August 12th

We went over to Grandmom and Grandad's house again today! Chris and Grandad cut down some dead limbs from a tree down by the lake and Hunter helped with the clean up!

I saw Hunter and Grandad (Hunter's Great Grandad) sitting and chatting.  Hunter just seemed so grown up today.  He loves to help the men, and he is a great helper!!!!

I love these pics of Hunter and Grandad!

See that tattoo on Grandad's arm, it says Pam (Grandmom's name,) I have always loved it!

Their house always makes me a bit nostalgic....I have so many fond memories of being there!!!

Hunter has become quite the expert tractor driver. He drove it down the hill (and didn't go in the lake) and backed the trailor over the rocks, right where Grandad told him to go!  He did that several times and was very proud of himself! "Watch me mom!!!!"  Then he drove through a narrow path by the garden over to the burn pile to dump the limbs! I think the boy needs to live on a farm!

Ella.....well she was in a mood today. She didn't sleep well last night and it showed today!!!!  Here she is playing playdoh.
Ella and Paige did have some fun though : )
Bubba came down and played some too.
Paige really liked playing with Hunter today....it was really cute!
Marie kept saying "poor Hunter," but he really loved it : )

2013 - August 11th

Today we went to my childhood friend Chelsea's house!!! We lived next door to eachother from 3rd grade through 6th grade! She happens to go to church with one of my blog/Facebook friends, Kelli, who has an adorable 4 year old little girl, Emily, who has Down syndrome! Chelsea invited both of our families over to swim and have a BBQ! It was great to see Chelsea after all of these years and great to meet Kelli, in person, after all these years of following eachothers kids!!!

Ella and Emily....getting ready to get in the pool!

The kids all had a blast swimming!!!!  Ella even got brave and took her floaty off and was swimming both above and under water all by herself!!!

Hunter going down the slide

Chelsea and I after swimming with the kids....wish I had a pic of us back in the day with me : )

2013 - August 10th

Marie and Paige came over to swim with us today! It was beautiful and sunny this morning and early afternoon. Dad and Debbie went out and vacuumed the pool and tested all the chemicals and then the kids got in! They were in about 15 minutes when the wind picked up (and blew leaves into the pool) and some ugly clouds came bringing thunder and rain! So we hopped out and went to the front porch to wait out the storm.

Ella telling Paige a secret.  These two have played so great together!!!!
Coloring!
Getting squirted by dad/Uncle Chris : )
After the storm ended we headed back out to the pool, the skies looked promising with clear sky on the way.....and then the clear sky disappeared and storm #2 rolled in. LOL. But the kids (and Chris) did get in some good swimming time!  I got one picture, when we first went out. Hunter is in that picture.....and so is Marie's butt as she is climbing up the ladder. LOL. So I won't post that pic : )

This hawk was drying out his wing on the rail of the pool deck!
This wild animal (AKA Ruby) found her happy place...in BeBe's lap!  We thought it was quite funny how her nose is turned to the side : )
She is becoming quite the spoiled Grandog : )  Ella climbed up in BeBe's lap later and Ruby started barking at her, telling her to get off of her spot!!!
Poor Hunter. Besides the one pic with Marie's booty this is all I got of him today. Sorry Bubs!

Then we headed to the mall for a little bit of tax free shopping...got some really good deals! Then we came back home and the kids went straight to the pool!!! It was a great day!

2013 - August 8th

Today we went to Grandmom and Grandad's again!

Ella helped Grandmom make deviled eggs. She was quite confused after she cracked the egg and the cooked yolk fell out. "What is that????" she said!
Hunter of course drove the tractor around....he asked if he could pretend to mow the grass...he did a very thorough job!
Then he hauled Daddy around! LOL!!!

Ella and Grandmom moved on to making cupcakes!
Her favorite part was of course licking the spoon!

These cupcakes required a group effort and since I am one handed it meant the boys had to help out.  The cupcakes were s'mores flavored. So first they mixed a grahm cracker crust, then spooned in half of the chocolate batter and then squeezed in some marshmellow (which was the hard part) followed by the rest of the chocolate batter.

Ready to go in the oven!
Bubba took a break in his driving to help lick the bowl! I somehow forgot to take pictures of the final product....everyone said they were good!!!!
